Casey Mears' 600th NASCAR Start: Truck Series Debut at Martinsville Speedway (2025)

A NASCAR legend is about to make history, and we're here to break it down for you! Casey Mears, a veteran of the sport, is set to reach an incredible milestone and make his debut in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series all in one go. But here's where it gets interesting...

Mears, known for his 2007 triumph at the Coca-Cola 600, is gearing up for his first-ever NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway. And this is the part most people miss: while it's his Truck Series debut, it also marks his 600th career start across NASCAR's three National Series!

For this momentous occasion, Mears will be behind the wheel of the No. 69 The Pit Stop Diecasts Ford F-150, courtesy of MBM Motorsports. The truck will sport a unique black and red design to celebrate this special start.

Mears shared his excitement, saying, "Coming back to Martinsville for my 600th NASCAR start is truly special. This sport has given me so many amazing memories, and making my Truck Series debut with MBM Motorsports at such a legendary track is thrilling. The Truck Series has always been a goal of mine - it's intense, exciting racing, and Martinsville is the perfect stage for it."

Carl Long, the team owner of MBM Motorsports, couldn't agree more. He stated, "Having Casey in our truck is a massive moment for us. Reaching 600 NASCAR starts is an incredible achievement, and we're honored that he chose us to share this milestone. Casey's experience and professionalism are a huge asset to our team, and race fans will love seeing the No. 69 The Pit Stop Diecasts Ford on the track."

Mears's journey back to NASCAR began in March at Martinsville with Garage 66, the NASCAR Cup Series component of MBM Motorsports. This weekend, he'll make his 599th NASCAR start at Talladega Superspeedway in the YellaWood 500.

But wait, there's more! Mears isn't just aiming for the 600-start milestone across all three National Series; he's also chasing his 500th NASCAR Cup Series start. Sunday's race at Talladega will be his 492nd start in NASCAR's premier series.

And if that wasn't enough, The Pit Stop Diecasts will also be a major associate sponsor for the Garage 66 Ford Mustang Dark Horse during the NASCAR Cup Series Championship at Phoenix Raceway on November 2.

So, mark your calendars! The Slim Jim 200 for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at Martinsville Speedway will air live on FS1, the Motor Racing Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90 at 6 p.m. ET on Friday, October 24.

This is a NASCAR moment you won't want to miss! Are you excited for Casey Mears's milestone and debut? What do you think about his journey and the impact it will have on the sport? Let us know in the comments; we'd love to hear your thoughts!
